Come enjoy a bright and airy spring home tour! Our coastal-inspired home is freshened for spring with greenery and plants, neutral patterns, vintage accents, and hints of blush and blue.
Hello sweet friends, and welcome to my very FIRST spring home tour! 🙂 Today I’m sharing our home styled for the season as a part of our Breath of Fresh Air blog hop, hosted by my friend Mansa from This is Simplicite.
If you are here from Nina’s blog at Strawberry Road–or from one of the other lovely posts on this fun spring blog hop–I’m so honored to have you! I’m Caitlin, a wife, mother, and homebody extraordinaire 😉 You can learn more about Lion & Lantern here!
I am so excited to share the subtle, budget-friendly changes I have made around our home to usher in springtime this year! In fact, I took so many photos that today’s post will be a casual overview. I plan to share more springy styling tips and tricks soon, so be sure to bookmark Lion & Lantern, or join my email list to stay in touch!
Now grab a coffee or iced tea (it is almost spring, after all!) and let’s get started.
Simple Spring Entryway
I feel that I’ve reached a happy place with our entry, so no major changes since I shared our easy coastal entryway styling earlier this year. I did swap out the hammered gold vase for another basket, and added some fresh greenery that really enhances the coastal, California feel! Several weeks later the greenery still looks great, too. Keep in mind that greenery lasts much longer than fresh florals, and doesn’t muck up the water in the vase! Win win.

Blush & Blue Living Room
Our living room has definitely made the biggest transformation recently! If you follow along on Instagram, you’ll know that a few weeks ago I tackled several of the gray walls with white paint. We are loving how bright and fresh it feels in here now! We also recently purchased our very first houseplant, Millie the snake plant, named after the Slytherin Millicent Bulstrode. (Any other Harry Potter fans out there? 😉 )
Apart from that, I put away our wintery pillow covers in exchange for ones with muted, springy tones and neutral patterns. I especially love the blush colored pillow on our accent chair!
Finally, I swapped out some of the decor on our ladder shelf, which is one of my favorite areas to change up seasonally. The faceted blue vase and florals really add a touch of spring 🙂
Springy Kitchen with Vintage Accents
I’ve been slowly adding interest to our kitchen with thrifted and vintage touches. For spring, I’m focusing on pretty greens, yellows, and blues. Apart from the vintage books that I recently found at Goodwill, I already had everything else 🙂
The pretty handmade bowls were a wedding gift, made by my husband’s very talented aunt. The florals are all faux, except for the white chrysanthemums and greenery in the last photo. The white bowls and plates are the ones I have been using for the dining room, like our Thanksgiving tablescape and Valentine’s Day tablescape, and they are melamine!
I love the bones of our white kitchen, but until recently, it desperately needed some character. I’m so happy with the little changes I’ve made, on a budget! I’ll be sharing more of this space soon since I took so many photos, so be sure to check back 🙂
Thank you so much for dropping by Lion & Lantern today for my spring home tour! To continue on our Breath of Fresh Air blog hop, head over to Miranda’s lovely home at Blue Agate Abode.
